Bed & Breakfast Inns in Texas

Cayon Lake
Biscuit Hill Bed and Breakfast is located between Austin & San Antonio; 15 breathtaking scenic miles West of the German heritage towns of New Braunfels & Gruene in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The 5000 sq. ft. house sits on two acres with native gardens, and a forest of Cedar & Oak trees which accent the view of beautiful Canyon Lake. The inn offers individually distinctive theme rooms, all with private baths, and porch or deck seating. www.biscuithill.com, (888) 998-9909

Galveston
The Stacia Leigh Bed & Breakfast is aboard a 12' Staysail schooner built in 1906. The B&B has eleven staterooms with ensuite bathrooms which include Jaccuzi bathtubs with showers. Amenities such as a huge salon and dining room, library, hot tub, dry sauna and 3500 sq. ft. outdoor two tiered observation deck, are sure to provide a luxurious getaway. A full breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the historic tall ship Elissa. (409) 750-8858

Jefferson
Directly on the banks of Big Cypress Bayou, close to historic Jefferson, is the Maison Bayou's Riverfront Railcar and Frisco Caboose. The railcar has beautifully varnished wood walls and ceiling, accented by 20 windows plus two skylights, giving a panoramic view of the woods and Big Cypress Bayou. The Frisco Caboose has a view of the river from the bed and the observation windows, plus a private deck. 903-665-7600, www.maisonbayou.com

Smithville
The Katy House is named for the old "Katy" railroad line (the Missouri Kansas & Texas Railroad) traveled through the area en route to Houston and Galveston. The Conductors' Quarters has authentic antique railroad hardware and memorabilia, and captures the feel of early small-Texas-town living. To prove that they are train-lovers themselves, the Katy House innkeepers are in the process of reproducing the distinctive Bluebonnet china, used on the M-K-T dining cars until the end of passenger service. It can be ordered on-line from the Katy House (800) 843-5289, www.katyhouse.com.
