Schooner Surprise

Camden
Schooner Surprise offers two hour Windjammer cruises from the Camden Public Landing from Memorial Day to mid-October. Built in 1918 and listed on the National Register, they are limited to 18 adults (children over 12). They serve fresh fruit and cookies. This is a non-smoking cruise. www.camdenmainesailing.com

Lively Lady Too Eco Tour is an informative cruise out on beautiful Penobscot Bay. You will learn about lobster fishing, how the traps work, lobster anatomy and life cycle with Capt Alan Philbrick, a former biology teacher who leads a lively discussion with questions and answers. Then journey to islands to see seals and seal pups, eagles, ospreys and nesting sea birds. The Captain gives a commentary on this typical Maine marine ecosystem. www3.sympatico.ca/lively.lady

Rockland
North End Schooners are two traditional wooden sailing vessels that  offer windjammer cruises to allow passengers to experience life at sea. Taking a  vacation on a Windjammer involves sailing all day and anchoring every night in a different harbor on the Maine coast. All meals are provided and feature the best that New England has to offer. On every trip you find an uninhabited island and have a lobster bake with all the fixings. www.schoonerheritage.com
