We
all know that Idaho is the number one producer of potatoes
in the U.S. -- but did you know it is also number one in U.S.
production of Austrian winter peas? Didn't think so. There's
a lot about Idaho most people don't know, and we promise you,
it's not all agricultural.
Idaho's
pristine rivers, scenic canyons and Grand Teton Mountains
are what keep people traveling there in droves. And Idaho
is home to America's deepest river gorge, Hell's Canyon, which
at 7,900 feet is deeper than the Grand Canyon. Nature-made
attractions are everywhere you turn in Idaho -- and can also
be found in the city as well. The Boise River, which runs
through the downtown area, provides anglers with the opportunity
to fish as a break from business.
Boise
offers a number of different business meeting places, but
the biggest is Boise Centre on the Grove, ideally located
downtown within walking distance to approximately 1,000
hotel rooms, a variety of fine restaurants, coffee bars, shopping,
entertainment and exciting attractions.
Those
exciting attractions include a great botanical garden and
a number of museums to tour through, including the Old Idaho
Penitentiary, which was originally built as a permanent territorial
prison in the 1870s and closed after 100 years of use.
