To
most minivan shoppers, reliability and peace of mind are of paramount importance.
And when it comes to sterling reputations for quality, the Toyota Sienna has few
rivals. Based as it is on the same platform that spawns the wildly popular Camry,
the Sienna minivan promises nothing if not reliability, having effectively dealt
with the sludge-buildup problem it dealt with this last year (note: if shopping
for a pre-owned Sienna, make sure that it complies with the recent recall).
The Sienna itself is as styled as conservatively as any other Toyota, yet
still manages to incorporate enough curves in the design as not to appear as boxy
as its minivan credentials might imply. Those curves take a slight toll on interior
space, particularly maximum cargo capacity, but things like a split, sliding,
tumbling, reclining and removable third-row seat ensure that you can use the space
that's there with ease. An available Symphony package for LE and XLE trims incorporates
a monochromatic paint scheme, 16-inch wheels and, best of all, a whomping 8-speaker
JBL sound system. Also of the utmost importance to minivan shoppers
is safety; and in this respect, the Sienna is an industry leader, with available
stability control, side air bags and panic assist for the brakes. And that's in
addition to standard ABS and seatbelt pretensioners with load limiters. Safety
and reliability, from Toyota. Imagine that. |
