Travel Safety Tips & Advice
Women travelers have increased by 5,000 percent since 1970. According
to travel industry experts more than 40 percent of all business
travelers today are women. While many of those are airborne,
the greatest majority travel by car and not always for
business. Between leisurely vacations,
out-of-state business, visiting family and friends, and girl's weekends away, women
spend far more time on-the-go than men, which
means they're exposed to a higher number of hazards while
traveling alone.
From locking luggage to ID theft to post-9/11 travel, women have more reasons than ever to be safe and cautious during their time outside of the house.
RTM's Travel Safety section provides tips to women on how
to stay safe and sane when traveling alone, and the secret
weapons you'll need to arm yourself with to avoid dangerous
encounters whether you're in an airport parking lot or hotel guest room.
