The
World's Best Hostels
by Jessica
Howell
Hostels
- they appeal to the young, the budget-minded and the
fiercly independent backpackers among us. A comfortable
space and a warm environment are breeding grounds for
personal tips, suggestions and advice that go far beyond
that of any concierge. Finally being appreciated for
their significant role in the travel sphere, hostels
cease to slow in popularity. And as a recent HostelWorld.com
survey shows, there are plenty worthy of awards.
Dublin
was host to this year's third annual "Hoscars"
Award Ceremony - a celebration of this year's hottest
hostels tailored for an international audience. Winners
were chosen by more than 500,000 hostel users who voted
on over 10,000 properties. Each voter was surveyed after
their hostel stay and asked to "grade" the
property on six criteria: character, security, location,
staff, fun and cleanliness.
And
so, the winners of Hostelworld.com's Top Ten Hostels
