Tips on How to Save Time
Before and During Travel

How to Save Time Before & During Travel

People are more than in a hurry when traveling. So, they need to save the most time they can to ensure travel plans go as smoothly as possible AND make their flight on time. What services are out there to help travelers plan in half the time with half the work?

Self-Service Check-In: Travelers no longer have to stand in line to check in at the counter. Most airlines have self-service check in kiosks at airports around the nation. These allow passengers with or without luggage to begin their check-in with just one touch and receive their boarding pass -- often in less than 90 seconds.

Visit Airline Websites: Airline websites provide a number of opportunities to make travel simpler. AA.com, for example, provides a host of features including booking airfare, car and hotel booking, checking flight departure and arrival status, viewing gate information, and learning about weather at destinations.

Online Check-in: All airlines offer the convenience of checking in for your flight from the comfort of your own home or office. This allows travelers to head directly for the security checkpoint upon arrival and then onto the gate.

Flight Status Notification: Ever gotten to the airport and found out your plane is delayed or your gate has changed? Some airline websites allow for proactive notification of status of flights and gate information. American Airlines' Flight Status Notification let's you sign up at AA.com to be contacted by cellphone or tablet to receive emails or text with any flight changes and/or status updates so that you're not hanging at the airport longer than necessary.
