According to 4,000 travelers recently surveyed on vacationing trends by TripAdvisor, there are plenty of sizzling destinations and travel excursions to be had.

By gleaning their website for several criteria including changes in search activity and postings, the staff at TripAdvisor have developed a way to predict the rising stars in travel, as well as those that are losing steam.

So, what are the emerging hot spots? Pamukkale, Turkey, Marrakech, Morocco and Puno, Peru top the list of trendy travel destinations. And what hot spots have lost their luster? Miami, Honolulu and Acapulco, among others.
