We
remember a time when we had to spell out "sport-utility vehicle" because
not many people knew what "SUV" meant. Oh how things change. Now even
my grandmother carpools back and forth to her bridge club meets in one, loving
it because "it has so much room for the girls." Today's
sport-utility vehicle comes in many shapes and sizes, with more on the way every
year. From small and cutesy to macho and humongous, there are more varieties of
SUVs on the market than Imelda Marcos has shoes. Well, almost. But no matter how
many styles we end up being offered, size matters when it comes to SUVs. And as
Goldilocks might say, the mid-size package is the one that fits most families
"just right." Still,
among the mid-sizers, there are many shapes and styles to choose from. We chose
