2007 New Car Model Guide: Scion Cars, Trucks, & SUVs

2007 SCION LINE-UP

ScionThe brand of Scion, spinning out of Toyota, showcases rather cool but affordable small cars. Three models comprise Scion's line for 2007. The xA is an eensy-weensy four-door with big glass up front and the tail squared for a hatchback door, while the xB looks like a box on wheels as contemporary homage to a panel van in a hip slammed stance. And tC is a stylish two-door coupe with a glass lid on top and add-on gear available to fashion a slick custom car.

Scion xA

With a hatch in back, the four-door xA stands tall with a high tail and low nose united by the arching roofline. Inside, the cabin floor dips low so you can step aboard easily, and the ceiling bows high to fit tall chair-like seats. Power comes from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that reaches to 103 hp through a manual five-speed shifter or optional four-speed automatic. Toyota offers multiple components to customize the exterior package -- foglamps, a tail spoiler, roof rack and even sporty body parts out of Toyota Racing Development (TRD).

Scion xB
2007 Scion xB

This low-slung and ultra-boxy panel van resembles a California surfer's customized wagon in miniature. Like xA, Scion xB draws from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 103 hp through a manual five-speed or optional automatic four-speed shifter. Despite affordable price points, xB stocks lots of equipment like air conditioning, power for windows and door locks and mirrors, anti-lock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and vehicle stability control (VSC). In the four-seat cabin, there's a new universal mini-jack connector on the console for routing MP3 music files from a portable music player through xB's audio speakers.

Scion tC
2007 Scion tC

This Scion is a slinky coupe with the tailgate of a hatchback. The tC has a monochromatic face and an unusual roof -- it's virtually all glass from a panorama-style power moonroof. The spacious cabin contains contoured buckets in front and rear seats that recline for comfort or fold to increase stow space in the cargo bay. Power stems from a 2.4-liter four-in-line with 161 hp and a manual five-speed or electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission. A new price-leader Spec Package shows a fixed glass roof, 16-inch wheels and special colors like Black Sand Pearl.
