Hyundai Dealers Help Fight Pediatric Cancer By Selling New Vehicles

Building upon its commitment to fighting pediatric cancer, Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) presented a $1,127,369 donation to its national philanthropy - the world-renowned Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. This marks Hyundai's fifth year as the first and only automobile manufacturer in the U.S. to focus exclusively on raising awareness and funds for fighting childhood cancers.

To raise the $1,127,369, Hyundai dealerships nationwide donated a portion of each vehicle sold in 2002 to the Jimmy Fund. A portion of the money was also donated to regional pediatric cancer care programs at Duke Children's Hospital and Health Center, Chicago Children's Memorial Hospital, and City of Hope Cancer Center. Additionally, Hyundai dealers in the Eastern Region raised more than $400,000 by participating in the 14th annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk in September of last year.

"We are extremely proud of our dealers for making this year's donation the largest yet," said Fin O'Neill, President and CEO, Hyundai Motor America. "Hyundai is dedicated to continuing to assist the Jimmy Fund in its efforts to fight children's cancer and we look forward to another record-breaking year of fundraising in 2003."

To ensure Hyundai has another successful year of fundraising, it will once again dedicate a share of every new Hyundai sold in 2003 to the Jimmy Fund.

A dedicated member of the American community, Hyundai also supports a variety of other charities ranging from health and community initiatives to multicultural and arts/humanities organizations.
