Just
put a few drops of essential oil on the round wood diffuser
and hang from your rearview mirror. |
As
my friend slid into the passenger seat of my car the other day,
she turned to me and asked, "What smells so good?"
And
as much as I would've liked to say it was me -- it wasn't, sadly
enough. It was my new air freshener.
Yes,
you read right. I'm getting compliments on my air freshener, of
all things. Even my mother likes it.
I
don't blame them, though. Every time I sit in the driver's seat,
I feel like I've entered a spa. The subtle aroma of lavender and
rosemary magically soothe my frazzled nerves as I navigate rush-hour
traffic. It also leaves me wanting a nice paraffin dip, but that's
a different story altogether.
So
what's so special about these ultra-cool air fresheners? Well,
for starters, Scent Travelers from Earth Solutions are all natural,
being wood diffusers scented with essential oils. Instead of having
to endure an artifical fruit scent, you can have your own natural
oasis of orange, lemon and ylang ylang (this essential oil combo
is supposed to boost recall and memory). Instead of getting a
fake pine tree smell, you get natural scents of pine, cedar and
juniper, a mix that's supposed to keep you wide awake and alert
behind the wheel. Other scent combinations include grapefruit
and vanilla (passion-inspiring, oh-la-la), lime, mandarin and
bergamot (energizing), and lemon, cedar and ginger (enhances clarity
and cleverness). So not only does your car smell divine, but you're
actually reeping the benefits of aromatherapy.
How
do the Scent Travelers work? All you have to do is place between
five and ten drops of essential oil on a circular wood diffuser
and hang the diffuser from your rearview mirror. The downside:
you'll need to add a few more drops every week or so. The upside:
the diffuser/essential oil combo only costs about $8 and you'll
love the natural, soothing scents. And, if you're lucky, you'll
get your mother to stop nagging you about those straw wrappers
and CDs that litter your vehicle.
