According to a Cingular and Avis sponsored 2003 Braun Research survey of American car renters, more than 93 percent of people who own cell phones take them on trips; however, only 48 percent of those surveyed own a hands-free device, and just 36 percent take it with them when they travel. Cars Thieves Love
More theft claims are filed per 1,000 insured Escalades than for any other 2000-2002 vehicle, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute, an insurance-industry group. The Escalade claim frequency was about four times the average. Loss payments for a vehicle or things stolen were also the highest for the Escalade. []
