WD-40 Uses

WD-40's Many Uses and Why We Can't Live Without It

If you work on cars or own a home, you know there is one product you can't live without — WD-40®.

While WD-40 is at home in auto repair shops, garages and workshops, its list of uses is probably much longer than you thought. Here are a few lesser-known ways you can use WD-40 in the garage:

  • Spray WD-40 on the exterior of automobiles to keep mud, road tar, paint and insects from sticking

  • Coat chrome parts and wheels for a lustrous shine

  • Using the red straw, deliver a squirt of WD-40 into locks to drive out moisture and prevent locks from freezing during the colder months of the year

  • After flooding, use WD-40 to drive water from distributor caps and get your car started faster

  • Coat lug nuts and other bolts with it to ease removal and replacement, and dissolve grease and grime
