European Women Online
 The
number of European women online grew by 29 percent from February 2001
to February 2002, according to a new report from Jupiter MMXI.
The
latest figures indicate that there are now 25.1 million women using
the Internet in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
and the UK, compared to 40.1 million men.
The
largest female Internet audience is in Sweden where 46 percent of
women are online. The UK has the second highest percentage of women
online with 42 percent. Germany and France both have 39 percent, while
Italy has 31 percent, and Spain, 29 percent.
According
to the statistics, Spanish women spend the most time online, while
Italian women spend the least.
The
research also indicates that it is younger women, who are using the
Internet the most, except in Germany, where women over the age of
50, spend over nine hours online each month.
